My Story

I am number six of seven children and we were dairy farmers; my mother was very busy, so my mom’s sister only had two girls; so she had time to work with me and she was a very good seamstress that got me interested in sewing. She helped me make my cheerleader outfit in junior high. Her taking the time to work with me took my love for the garments and sewing up a notch.

To create something new was just an amazing feeling, that's how I feel with embroidery too.

My main work was doing alterations, but I was getting bored with that. In the early 1990s, home embroidery machines came out and I wanted something fun to do that I could do for my three kids. I started making things for them and their teachers. I never intended to start a business, but in a small community of Hudson, Iowa, word spread like wildfire. I realized this little embroidery machine wasn’t going to cut it so I bought a commercial embroidery machine and I’ve been at it ever since.

Special Thanks to the Sioux Center News and Renee Wielenga for their article to showcase my business.
